Being in a long distance relationship is terrifying. It’s leaving your heart in one place, in the hands of someone else, while being miles away wondering but never actually knowing. Being so far apart, a little lie can go a long way. It’s falling for someone more and more each day without actually physically being together. It’s wondering if all the suffering you’re going through is actually worth it, but hoping for the best. It’s real. It puts you at your worst, where making up can’t be as easy as a deep gaze in each other’s eyes, and as soft as a kiss. It’s self-doubt, yet rewarding. It’s laying in bed at night, wishing nothing more than to be together as the tears trickle down your face, thinking “man, I really love this guy,” and shortly falling asleep smiling. It’s giving up unconditional kisses and hugs, for what feel like extremely short-lived moments. It’s saying goodbye wondering when you’ll next be showered with physical affection. However, everything you’ve felt, every ounce of doubt is canceled out once it’s time to be reunited. The butterflies rush madly in your stomach, the anticipation increases, fear and excitement are what encompass your body. Simply, because seeing someone you care for so much after a period of time is euphoric. It makes your heart sing, your stomach full, your mind wander, and just like that everything is back in place. Being in a long distance relationship requires time, patience, trust, and most importantly love. It’s this feeling that we thrive off of, this contentment in your mind that once you’re together, there is nothing more you could possibly need.
